Well, I don't know actually, but the changelog says 27 Aug 2008... I
guess manpages shipped with it are obsolete (and thus confusing more
than unuseful...). Moreover, manpages contained are mostly for low-level
and administration tools: I guess anyone needing to use these commands
is a power user who knows how to move (and likely can easily read the
original manpage...).

The only caveat seems to be the task-italian meta-package dependency.
BTW, IMHO (lovely acronyms...) this kind of package has little point to
exist: each package should ship the existing translations, for the sake
of maintainability (localepurge can easily do its job in saving
space...).
