They were deinstalled some time ago, to make my system clean. But googleeaerth is running well, when they are installed. This I know for sure, as I formerly worked with ia32-libs.
In the dependencies, I saw, googleearth either needs ia32-libs* or libgtk2.0-0:i386. The last one is installed on my system, so ia32-libs are not needed. > Furthermore, it could be possible to isolate particular ia32-libs it relies > on and set them as dependencies, but it would require a lot of time to do > so. > As we know, ia32-libs are no more required in multiarch and should be completely deinstalled. I am running debian/jessie, and googleearth from sid is running very well on this system. You can move it to jessie, if you want. There is still a problem with nvida driver from debian. Googleearth will not run with this, but this is another story. This problem IMO is the 32-bit part of nvidia drivers from debian. When I am installing all nvidia 32-bit drivers from debian, the earth in googleearth is not seen. But if I am using the installer directly from Nvidia site, then everything is working perfectly. I think, there is already a bugreport at the nvidia packages related to this problem, but nobody seemed to care about it, as it effects only very few (still) 32-bit applications - like googleearth. > > Adnan > Best regards Hans -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
