- From the upstream bug tracker: I've just committed a change, r22878, which forces $LANG to a UTF-8 locale which will work around the patch, but it will cause trouble for Debian and derivative users who don't have the appropriate UTF-8 locale installed -- but it will put up a message and set the C locale rather than segfaulting.
