That's just plain weird. I'm not in a position to explore this for a few days, though, as my laptop hard disk has just died and it will be about a week before I can replace and reinstall it. Meanwhile, do you have any ideas why pbuilder should be saying that permissions to /dev/stdout and /dev/stderr are denied?
