Not really. I tried several times to contact stratus and never received a response. I don't know whether he's even active in Debian any more. Thanks for reminding me about this bug, since I didn't really pay any attention to it since my last message. Later in September I might have time to try again at finding a sponsor. Of course, any interested person is welcome to take charge of this; the previous packaging is still in my repository (https://github.com/rtandy/xcompmgr) but is still missing the patch to fix the regression.
