If I purge fglrx I can poweroff and reboot from CLI, GUI/X and a
terminal. With the module loaded it seems random although not being able
to shutdown/reboot from GUI is consistent. I could be wrong on assuming
the kernel is the reason but since my sound card is randomly detected
and indexed as well, I am inclined to believe so. Oh, and by the way,
with fglrx loaded, when rebooting/powering off from GUI/X I get a
scrambled screen http://i.imgur.com/faRGeAf.jpg
