The lack of gnome-keyring, if it's needed for network-manager to work, would be a debian-cd bug. I see network-manager recommends it. My installation was from CD w/o network, so if the recommend was left off the CD, it won't get installed. (Of course if the program is crashing w/o it, a recommend may be too weak a relationship.)
