Signature 0x00000f34 is shared by 32-bit and 64-bit parts. The microcode update is present in the 32-bit binary package (i386 Debian arch), but not on the 64-bit binary package (amd64 Debian arch). List of Xeons with Nocona core: http://ark.intel.com/products/codename/1789/Nocona http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Xeon_microprocessors#.22Nocona.22_.2890_nm.29 Hopefully, this error will not have affected too many people: Xeons with a Nocona core are somewhat rare nowadays (launch date: 2004), and running in 64-bit (long) mode on these early EM64T parts has never been a good idea performance-wise (Intel ARK, amusingly enough, lists most of the "64 bit Xeon with 800MHz FSB" parts as 32-bit!). The lastest microcode update for signature 0x0f34 is from 2005, just one year after the launch, so almost every server motherboard will have that microcode update available if their BIOS was kept up-to-date. The fix for this bug is already in the git repository, but I don't plan to upload new packages with only this one change. If someone really needs this microcode update in the 64-bit packages anytime soon, please let me know (e.g. reply to this bug). -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
