Package: mediawiki Version: 1:1.19.8+dfsg-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? Installed clean new Debian wheezy system. Installed Apache 2.4 with default options. Installed mediawiki with default options. Enabled mediawiki apache configuration, including alias configuration. Attempted to access http://localhost/mediawiki/ * What was the outcome of this action? Attempting to access the page produces a 403 Forbidden error, and this message in the apache error log: AH01630: client denied by server configuration: /var/lib/mediawiki/ * What outcome did you expect instead? Default install should work! * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? The problem seems to do with the change in syntax for Apache 2.4 allow/deny rules. Prior bug#669832 mentions a fix that worked for me (change in the allow/deny syntax in /etc/mediawiki/apache.conf). However, that bug was marked closed without such a fix being applied to the mediawiki package. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.9.2 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
