here was a typo in imlib.m4 that leads to configure scripts that would
create Makefiles that tried to link in libgdk_imlib<whatever> even though
the gdk-imlib test had failed.
The configure scripts would do this when I had gdk-imlib1 and
libgdk-pixbuf1, but not gdk-imlib1-dev or libgdk-pixbuf-dev installed on my
debian system.
Reported upstream to no effect (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13328
