I was using the gtk build before (as gtk widgets are definitely nicer than lucid), but more and more "gtk" means "gnome" nowdays, so I switched. Since I only see widgets for the "customize" interface (as I hide every gui element anyway), I'm actually happier with the lucid build. I don't use gnome. I mostly use vanilla GTK and (increasingly) QT apps when I have to. I literally have no idea how to set "gsettings" without installing half of the gnome desktop. I'm certainly not going to use any of these graphical tools to customize *emacs*. Frankly, I don't see any benefit for gsettings in the lucid build. If you don't have gnome and some application sets font settings for you, good luck finding the right key/value with gconf. fontconfig support with the lucid build is excellent, and Xresources have very nice cascading properties that also apply to lucid widgets. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
