that seems fairly reasonable, makes less typing for the admin
in many cases :)

i took a stab at bringing in dbconfig-common, but hit a small snag
because the credentials have to be provided in like 8 different places
with different variable names. i think i can overcome this by either
augmenting dbconfig-common (which i also maintain) or using some
other novel hack, but haven't revisited trying to do so in a couple
months.

on a positive note, now that nagios-plugins is under pkg-nagios control
we can move the check_nagios_db plugins into the package officially,
and modify them to load credentials out of a config file, too, meaning
much cleaner and more comprehensive support once it's in place.
