Package: geoip-database-contrib Version: 1.13 Severity: wishlist The cron job installed by geoip-database-contrib mails the full wget output, including the (long) download progress. This seems a bit excessive. I see two options:
1) The cron entry sends stdout to /dev/null, but not stderr. It could send both to /dev/null. 2) Pass an argument to the update script to tell it to be quiet, which it would in turn pass to wget. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages geoip-database-contrib depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.51 ii dpkg 1.16.10 ii ucf 3.0027+nmu1 ii wget 1.14-2 geoip-database-contrib recommends no packages.
