Package: powertop Version: 2.4-2 Severity: important Hi,
It happened to me twice this week: when running powertop, it will not do anything but print error messages of the form: Loaded 750 prior measurements BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 70 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 75 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 70 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 75 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 70 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 75 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 70 BUG: requesting unregistered parameter 75 [ad nauseum...] After a reboot, it worked again, but then today (after a few suspends) it showed the same symptoms. This bug has also been reported in other bug trackers: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powertop/+bug/1234299 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=947425 https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1334085 (reported as solved) >From the bug reports, it'd seem that clearing the cache, or rerunning the calibrate operation (which I have never run) solved the issue. I can confirm that removing the cache files solved the problem, for now at least. But this is still a very annoying bug. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_IE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages powertop depends on: ii libc6 2.17-93 ii libgcc1 1:4.8.1-10 ii libncursesw5 5.9+20130608-1 ii libnl-3-200 3.2.21-1 ii libnl-genl-3-200 3.2.21-1 ii libpci3 1:3.2.0-3 ii libstdc++6 4.8.1-10 ii libtinfo5 5.9+20130608-1 powertop recommends no packages.
