Hi, I mentioned previously that the ALSA drivers built in to kernel 2.6.14 worked fine, but it turns out there's an incompatibility between libasound2 1.0.9-3 and the emu10k1 driver's digital out (as used by Xine for example for AC3 pass-through). Upgrading libasound2 to 1.0.9+1.0.10rc2-1 fixes things, which makes sense since the version of ALSA included in kernel 2.6.14 is 1.0.10rc1.
This means that the kernel currently in unstable requires ALSA currently in experimental to function correctly. Would it be inappropriate to upload 1.0.10rc2 to unstable?
