When running bowtie2-build on reference fasta downloaded from ftp://ftp.ensemblgenomes.org/pub/release-20/plants/fasta/arabidopsis_thaliana/cdna/Arabidopsis_thaliana.TAIR10.20.cdna.all.fa.gz , bowtie2-build crashes in ugly way. After gunzip and running again, it's OK. Programs should not just crash when invalid input is given to them.
