Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: wishlist
Hello,
I'd like for the dak instalation in ftp-master to set the Content-Type
of outgoing mail which contains .changes file to "text/plain;
charset=utf-8". At the moment, this header is not added at all, which
makes it difficult to read non-ascii characters in MUAs without
resorting to configuration tricks.
The rationale for picking utf-8 is that .changes file will be either
plain ASCII, which is valud utf-8, or utf-8, since they are composed
from debian/changelog and debian/control, which are supposed to be in
utf-8 if they're not plain ASCII.
A "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit" header should be added as well if
Content-Type is added.
Thanks in advance,

Everything you read in newspapers is absolutely true, except for that
rare story of which you happen to have first-hand knowledge.
