This is because fai-setup exports the config space defined in FAI_CONFIGDIR, not the path from FAI_CONFIG_SRC.
FAI_CONFIGDIR is the local path to the config space. It is used by several fai tools. FAI_CONFIG_SRC is not used for deciding if the config space is located locally on the install server. What if nfs://anotherserver/path/to/cspace is used. Then you do not need to export anything. So, please also set FAI_CONFIGDIR to the local path to the config space.
