Package: libusb-0.1-4 Version: 2:0.1.12-20+nmu1sam1 Severity: wishlist File: libusb
Dear Maintainer, It would be great if libusb-0.1 was provided by the libusb-compat-0.1 library instead of the old and unmaintained libusb-0.1 codebase. libusb-compat-0.1 implements the libusb-0.1 API by calling into the newer libusb-1.0 library, so it would free us from having two separate versions of the libusb codebase in Debian. Fedora have been using libusb-compat-0.1 since 2010: see http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/libusb.git/tree/ Thanks!
