The glx alternative is pointing to mesa-diverted. This is something I didn't look at in your initial mail after seeing that the nvidia alternative was pointing to current ... You shouldn't set symlinks manually, but use update-alternatives --config nvidia update-alternatives --config glx Anyway, since you got that fixed, we could try to investigate how you got into this situation. /var/log/dpkg.log* and /var/log/apt/term.log* may be helpful to reply your upgrade history if you know when it last worked and when you did possibly problematic upgrades ....
