Hi, Stuart. /tmp is frequently mounted with the "nodev" option, which prevents the creation of device nodes. Debirf creates a temporary dev filesystem for the build image during the build process. Therefore I think it won't work to try to build debirf on any filesystem mounted "nodev", such as /tmp. Can you try building on some other mount that does not use the "nodev" option? jamie.
