Hi, pptview is actually a pretty smart work. It offers a high level of desktop integration, it somehow conforms to FHS, ... However, it also have multiple issues today. * The version is dated by today's standard: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pptview/+bug/1242369 * Suggested "openoffice.org-impress" no longer exist * If there is a "pptview", where is "docview" or "xlsview"? I guess the simplest resolution is simply remove it. So users won't be disappointed by it. If people want viewers from MSFT they should go for winetricks or CrossOver or whatever wine frontends.
