Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Package name: mintstick Version: 1.1.9 Upstream Author: Clement Lefebvre <r...@linuxmint.com> URL: https://github.com/linuxmint/mintstick License: GPL v2 Programming Lang: Python Description: USB stick formatter, GUI in gtk3 and python. It can serve for write .img and .iso files to USB sticks too.
I'm searching for a tool for that the end user can "format" a usb stick (usb flash drive) in the desktop. I think that both Gnome and KDE have these tool. But I not find one for other lightweight environments like Xfce or LXDE... I found too in http://wnpp.debian.net/ and in http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages ... Now I find mintstick, a tool written in python and gtk3, that works in Linux Mint. I try it in Debian Testing and works "more or less" for usb format (in my system it works only for root or with sudo) :-/. Try it as: sudo mintstick -m format Here are other links: https://github.com/linuxmint/mintstick http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/main/m/mintstick/ http://segfault.linuxmint.com/2013/08/usb-stick-formatter/ I would like to see this tool (or another similar) in Debian. Thanks in advance and excuse my bad english (I'm from Spain). Greetings.
