Is this really Debian wheezy? According to http://jenkins.debian.net/view/chroot-installation/job/chroot-installation_wheezy_install_haskell_upgrade_to_jessie/lastBuild/console it is possible to install all of Haskell in wheezy and upgrade to jessie without problems.
