No, that's not how xscreensaver-command works. 

I'm glad that your driver does not flicker. But others do. So like I said, this 
can't be solved portably. 

If you want to make it work on your machine and only your machine, flip the #if 
0 and rebuild. But that cannot be done in general because that makes things 
terrible for people who have different hardware than you happen to.
