Hi, I think this might be a case of removed-but-not-purged package as the .desktop is installed in /etc. I'm seeing nothing in the archive (codesearch) that is explicitly trying to start this. Could you please check in the dpkg/apt logs what was the status of the package before you (re-)install it?
