Documentation of the frenchle package, to be found with
texdoc frenchle
or in
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/doc/latex/frenchle/frenchle.pdf
states on page 6, section
5 Conditions d'utilisation
...
\usepackage{frenchle}
and indeed with this it works.
And, *I* have never learned French ...
