Hi, I'd like to second this request. Having optional lvmetad support for those people who find it useful would be much appreciated.
I'd be happy to create a patch to the lvm2 package to enable this support if it would be any help. If so, please let me know if you would prefer to have lvmetad in its own binary package, or simply be part of the lvm2 package.
