Completely by coincidence, after playing with an upstream release candidate (S2_4 r24328, close to what will be 2.4.2) I found my console full of (freeciv-gtk2:1983): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead (I didn't notice any obvious trouble.)
