python-gst-1.0-dbg currently ships /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/overrides/_gi_gst.so file, which is also present in python-gst-1.0. I am not sure how Gi overrides work, but in normal Python 2.x packages such debug files usually have _d suffix, i.e. _gi_gst_d.so (that is usually done by dh_python2). Take a look at python-cairo-dbg or python-sip-dbg for an example. Also, I would expect python-gst-1.0-dbg to contain debug symbols stripped from python-gst-1.0, i.e. /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gi/overrides/_gi_gst.so. This bug does not affect Python 3.x version of the package, where the naming is proper. -- Dmitry Shachnev
