initrd-tools is not supported for kernels >2.6.12 due to missing devfs support, and it is probable that all your troubles come from there. I suppose that you are not using pre-packaged debian kernels, but your own, right, or you would not have been able to be using initrd-tools. > I haven't tried with yaird yet (i'll try soon). indeed.
