I've been hacking at it intensely in the past days, and it's much better now. It runs as normal user, has a manpage now, and works fairly well for me now. I also added a script "adt-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud" to create a suitable VM from the daily Ubuntu cloud images (I didn't yet find a counterpart for Debian). This also has a manpage, but to get a VM for the current Ubuntu devel series (trusty) and the architecture of your installation you can run it without any arguments.
