Trying to compile sources from unstable gives me no error. And also the
package passes lintian check.
Related bugs:
#634930: now gpa 0.9.4-1 depends on libassuan-dev (in testing is now
2.1.1-1), and the bug is not present.

Here attached a patch to move the package to Standards-Version 3.9.5
