As far as keywords go, I'd add joystick, joypad, and perhaps joykeys and joyemu (the names of two similar programs for Windows or DOS which users may know). Did you look at the Ubuntu packaging? I like the desktop file: [Desktop Entry] Name=QJoyPad GenericName=Simulated Keystrokes GenericName[de]=Simulierte Tastendrücke Comment=Trigger keystrokes and mouse actions with gamepads/joysticks Comment[de]=Löse mit dem Gamepad/Joystick Tastendrücke und Mausbewegungen aus Icon=qjoypad Exec=qjoypad Terminal=false Type=Application Categories=Utility;Game; StartupNotify=false Encoding=UTF-8 I think the comment is better than that in your version, and the "Utility" and "Games" categories seems more appropriate to me than "KDE" and "Qt". Don't bother with the generic name though... Given that you have a debian/install file, you could use that to replace your install line for qjoypad.desktop in debian/rules.
