htdig supports regexes but there is no documentation as to what form of
regex syntax it supports. For example, does it support regexes like \s,
character classes like [:space:] or [[:space:]], etc.
Given that this is htdig 3.1, it does not support spaces in URL's being
indexed. htdig 3.2 provides a configuration option to work around this.
In htdig 3.1, the only way that I see to work around this is with
url_rewrite_rules and setting it up to rewrite the ' ' character into
%20. This is not a doable thing as a character match for [ ] parses
%incorrectly as two strings "[" and "]".
At your discretion, treat this bug as a request for further
documentation on regexes or close/refile this bug as a request for a
workaround to the "spaces in URL" issue. (Alternately, if you provide the
documentation then I'll provide the workaround for the "spaces in URL"
issue ;)
