Package: bluez Version: 4.101-4.1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** I recently upgraded my system to the lastest debian sid. My bluetooth headset stopped working. I could connect to the headset using the bluetooth utilities, but pulseaudio wouldn't recognize it as an audio device. I found that pulseaudio was throwing this error: E: [pulseaudio] bluetooth-util.c: org.bluez.HandsfreeGateway.GetProperties() failed: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "GetProperties" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.HandsfreeGateway" doesn't exist It appears to me that it is making a call and not finding the appropiate bluez api. I searched on the pulseaudio website and in the changelog of the version 4, which is the one that is currently in sid, it says the following: "There's already been a large amount of work happening in the 'next' branch (which will be merged into master shortly). The highlight of these changes is support for BlueZ 5. " My guess is that that branch has already been merged to master and the current pulseaudio version in debian sid expects bluez 5 and not bluez 4. I am filling this report so that the bluez package will hopefully be updated to version 5. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.13-1-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bluez depends on: ii dbus 1.8.0-2 ii init-system-helpers 1.18 ii kmod 16-2 ii libc6 2.18-4 ii libdbus-1-3 1.8.0-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.38.2-5 ii libreadline6 6.3-1 ii libudev1 204-7 ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-23.3 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian12 ii python-dbus 1.2.0-2+b2 ii python-gi 3.10.2-2+b1 ii udev 204-7 bluez recommends no packages. bluez suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf changed: [General] Enable = Socket [Headset] HFP=true MaxConnected=1 FastConnectable=false -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
