Hi again Octavio and Reijo, I was packaging the new release before looking at this bug and I did things a little bit differently.
Since the rules override was because of the debian library and since this library doesn't work anymore (incompatibility) I dropped everything from debian/rules, the CPP flags have been merged upstream, the man page command too and the libraries are already correctly handled in the Makefile. the rules/build is now "dh_make make man" and nothing more. I also added this bug reference in changelog and uploaded on mentors [1].
