I believe this is something that you need to implement in your debian/rules for yourself right now. Most likely this month, but since it has already been branched off, you can rely that if any packages that build against the current libav10 package we have in experimental right now will continue to with the final release. There is therefore absolutely no reason to wait for the final release.
