Just noticed that «apt-cache dumpavail» is printing binary garbage at the end when: - Acquire::GzipIndexes "true"; - with a repo providing gzip compressed indices files. This is not visible with the Debian archive, because it does not provide gzipped indices files anymore. But I can see it when using the mozilla team's repository. ,--- Types: deb URIs: http://mozilla.debian.net/ Suites: experimental Sections: iceweasel-aurora `--- My guess is that dumpavail is feeding somehow the gzipped files uncompressed directly to stdout?
