Package: packagekit
Version: 0.8.17-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after updating to packagekit 0.8.17-1 the packagekitd process never
finishes and runs indefinitely taking all CPU and memory unless killed.
Deactivating the periodic search for updates in apper I achieved that
the process is not started automatically but the underlying problem is
unsolved. (This may actually be #739172 resurfacing in an odd way. I
could not tell.)

Reportbug gave me the message
debsums: changed file /var/lib/PackageKit/transactions.db (from
packagekit package)
I do not know whether this is to be expected or a possible source of the
problem. If there is any more diagnosis I can perform to help identify
the problem, please let me know.

Regards, Benjamin
