Yeah, I don't know anything about the AS protocol, and a bit of preliminary research doesn't turn up much other than just the other implementations of same. However, the 'rbscrobbler' plugin for rhythmbox looks promising, since it's already in clean, modular python - it looks as though it would be relatively easy to graft its Audioscrobbler.py into cplay. Fortunately both packages are GPL. I'll put this somewhere on my lengthy todo list. If someone else beat me to it, that'll be even cooler. [Note to potential contributors: don't waste time trying to adapt mpdscrobbler (also in python), a plugin for MPD. It's short and sweet, true, but it's not at all modular, and more importantly it doesn't seem to have any distribution license at all, let alone a GPL-compatible one.]
