Please note that whether you choose to symlink or copy the relevant .desktop
is not enough.
You also need to add appropriate the appropriate options, to your liking, to
that .desktop file's Exec parameter, hence the following:
$ diff ~/.config/autostart/gtk-redshift-autostart.desktop
/usr/share/applications/gtk-redshift.desktop
