I have some more info on this. I usually start 2 x-servers from gdm.conf like: 0=Standard 1=Standard ...and then use VT allocation to put them on VT 2 and 3: FirstVT=2 VTAllocation=true This stopped working in version 2.8.0.6-1. (Worked fine in the previous version.) When VTAllocation is used, gdm passes the desired VT-number to X on the command line. In this case both X-servers are passed "vt3" and both start there. (/var/log/Xorg.[01].log says which VT is being used and why, command line or "probed". The command line can also be checked with "ps -ef".) Changeing FirstVT to 7 made them both start on VT 7 instead (and not 8 as expected).
