Then, I flushed the auth.log and rebooted the computer (with v3.8.4-7). Please see the attached file for results. Also, when a Gnome session (through v.3.8.4-6) is running, I get these directories: # ls -l /run/user/ total 0 drwx------ 7 bmenant bmenant 160 mai 8 14:14 1000 drwx------ 5 Debian-gdm Debian-gdm 120 mai 8 14:14 113 But, when gdm3 fails to open a Gnome session, I get this one from the virtual console: # ls -l /run/user/ total 0 drwx------ 2 bmenant bmenant 40 mai 8 14:29 1000 The `/run/user/` directory is 755 root:root. The Debian-gdm user could fail to create its directory? Should I try to create this directory from the VC before I try to open a Gnome session? Thank you, Benjamin.
