Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

Installing systemd and trying a kexec restart as I have been for the last
several years. Machine did a hard reboot from not loading the new kernel.

See also Debian bug #699008.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
