It's been quite a long time since the last update to this bug.I'm not familiar with GNU/Hurd, but AFAICT from the buildd logs, openldap seems to build and link properly now; the current testsuite failure is covered in #693971.
Can you comment on that? Do you know whether the problem reported in this bug still exists?
