Because users don't use the upstream version. Keeping the bug open allows one to inform the user either via the web site or via utilities like apt-listbugs (which can be used to automatically block a buggy upgrade, possibly with the -B option for individual bugs selected by the user). The fixed-upstream tag is there to declare bugs as fixed upstream. -- Vincent Lefèvre <[email protected]> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
