Juerg, happy to hear from you again. The patch seems reasonable so I'll apply it to 1.5.6 and ask John to upload it to Sid. I don't want to tie it to the new features I'm working on (networked kdump) as I don't know when they will land. So I'll update the bug once I get your patch in.
