I can not reproduce the issue here. Entering rescue mode works just fine, no matter from which console I start it. Are you absolutely sure that you haven't mistyped your passphrase? Could you set your root password to something trivial which works across different keyboard layouts and try again? You might activate the debug-shell via systemctl start debug-shell.service This way you can inspect on tty9 what is going on. E.g. running journalctl -f or tail -f /var/log/auth.log might give you a clue. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
