You could also include /etc/shorewall/start that has this in it:

############################################################################
# Shorewall 2.2 -- /etc/shorewall/start
#
# Add commands below that you want to be executed after shorewall has
# been started or restarted.
#
dmesg -n5

Probably better than suggesting to people that they modify
/etc/init.d/klogd as that will then make upgrades of klogd less smooth.
